I love all aspects of being a doula and supporting clients through pregnancy and labor preparation. I have found my niche in prenatal and birth support, with a particular interest in working with families during the final weeks and days approaching their "due range."

This liminal space before birth is potent with emotion, and I have a deep strength in guiding clients through it. Parents are tested during this time in ways that demand patience and resilience in the face of the unknown — qualities that will serve them well not only through labor and birth, but through many stages of parenthood.

Encouragement, active listening, and emotional support are the cornerstones of my work as a doula.

Since I was a young child, I have always felt called to care for others. Within Motherhood was born from that calling — a response to the deep desire to support women and families on their journey into motherhood and parenthood.

I am a mother of three children and my life forever changed the moment I found out I was pregnant for the first time.

Robin is a huge fan of learning and improving upon her professional skills in order to offer the best support possible for her clients. 

In the four years that Within Motherhood has been serving birthing families across Connecticut, I have supported vaginal and surgical births, medicated and unmedicated births, inductions, and home-to-hospital transfers — in both home and hospital settings. Each birth is a unique experience, and I work with families to meet their individual needs.

In addition to being a certified birth doula through Embodied Doula Training, I am an active apprentice under childbirth educator and author of Transformed by Birth, Dr. Britta Bushnell. Through Britta's program, I have developed skills to support families through rites of passage, self-advocacy, building resilience, and much more.

starting within motherhood

Where it all began

Another baby boy was born in the spring and we became parents of two boys under the age of two years old.

Five months postpartum, I was diagnosed with oral cancer and underwent two invasive surgeries and several hospitalizations.


2011

At our son's first birthday party, we shared the news with a few close friends that we were expecting our second baby!

2010

Our first child was born in September and my motherhood journey began!

2009

On December 24, we found out we were pregnant with our first child.

2008

Our third and final baby came earth side in the fall of 2015.  A baby girl joined the family!  It was after her birth that we knew our family was complete and that we were done having babies. 


2015

Turning 40, buying our first home, and wrapping up, what would soon be, my last season as a wedding photographer.  The following year, would be the year that everything changed.


2019

Within Motherhood, LLC is born!
I completed my training with Embodied Doula Training for Birth and Postpartum Doula Care in March.  My first clients signed on in July for support with birth, including photography and postpartum care!
